Million Marijuana March 2011, May 7th

The 14th annual demonstration for legalization of cannabis will start on Saturday 7th May 2011 at 1pm on Karlovo náměstí (Charles square) in Prague, from where the supporters of cannabis will march via Václavské náměstí (Wenceslas' square) and Vinohrady to the Parukářka park.
Peaceful happening takes place in the context of international action Million Marihuana March, which is actually running in 300 big cities around the world. In Czech Republic part of this action will be an all-day music festival.
Demonstration aims to point at nonsense and unfair punishing of small cannabis growers, which comes from failings in legislation and publicy demands those necessary reforms:
- point at our cannabis legislation, which is in conflict with the Constitution of Czech Republic
- legalization of marihuana for medical applications
- legalization of growing and holding cannabis for own consumption
- to carry through freedom to grow and use marihuana for science purposes
- to support discussion about medical usage of marihuana
- to bring precise and objective informations about cannabis to the wide public
These points will be openly stated on the beginning of entire demonstration by the speaker of civic association Legalizace.cz, which dissociates from any political campaigns and anyones promises.
In final destination will be ready cannabis happening with two music stages, unique cannabis market, iteresting range of speakers, workshops, refreshment stands and leisure activities.

At the festival, which was visited by 15 000 people last year, will approach many popular bands, DJs and other artists. Festival is completely free for everyone, of course.
